It takes a Grammy award-winning rapper and a team of cheerleaders to officially launch Miami’s ultimate ship.

The 4,000-passenger ship, Norwegian Getaway was christened while docked in PortMiami late last week, with hundreds of onlookers enjoying the spectacle.

Miami icon and recording artist, Armando Christian Perez aka Pitbull lead the christening with a special performance.

He also introduced his signature vodka brand, Voli to cruise goers aboard Norwegian for the first time.  The vodka will be featured on board the ship and across the Norwegian fleet along with two signature drinks.

Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders also performed a special routine before conducting their official duties as the ship’s godmothers.

Norwegian Getaway was delivered to the cruise line mid-January and was used a floating hotel in New York during the SuperBowl weekend.

She is the largest ship to homeport year-round in Miami and began her weekly seven-day cruise from PortMiami to the Caribbean on Saturday.
