Royal Caribbean had secured a financial loan to fund the construction of a third Quantum class ship.
German credit firm, Hermes has agreed to provide 95 percent of the loan or EUR637 million, according to an announcement made this month on a Royal Caribbean blog post.
The Quantum class of cruise ships will be the line’s second largest class of passengers ships behind the Oasis class. They feature a range of ‘firsts’ in cruising, including a skydiving simulator and an observation tower – a glass-walled capsule with a crane arm which gives guests a 360 view of the ship.
The first Quantum-class ship, Quantum of the Seas is planned to launch on 23 November 2014, and will be followed by Anthem of the Seas in 2015.
The third unnamed Quantum-class vessel is likely to be released mid-2016.
