Disney Cruise Line has revealed that Disney Fantasy, its newest ship, will feature a new water park and adults-only pool area when she debuts in March 2012.
Deck 12 will feature a new water play area, the AquaLab, at the entrance to the AquaDuck water coaster – already a feature on her sister ships. With pop jets, geysers and bubblers, the 167-square-metre-space features water experiments designed to drench the whole family.
Created by Donald Duck’s nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie (or so the story goes), children will navigate the space and, responding to hand-painted notes, left by the nephews, either turn wheels and move levers to control the speed and temperature of the AquaDuck, cover holes to keep water circulating at a leaky wall or stop spurting pipes from filling Donald’s row boat with water.
If that all becomes too much, Satellite Sun Deck on deck 13 forward is an adults-only area where a circular splash pool will be cooled by a gently falling curtain of water.
Do you think the AquaLab will be a success with children?
