Dream arrives home

Expansions completed to welcome another big new ship.

Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, Disney Dream, has sailed into her homeport in Florida’s Port Canaveral from her shipyard in Germany ahead of her maiden voyage on January 26.

The new ship, which is the biggest for Disney Cruise Line at 4,000-passenger capacity, was welcomed to the port with open arms – or docks – where she has a new, expanded dock area and terminal facility, and parking station, which is connected to the terminal with a sky-bridge walkway.

It’s not only the cruise line’s terminal that’s grown to accommodate Disney Dream – things have been busy on Disney’s own private island, Castaway Cay, in the Bahamas where there is now more beach space, dining locations, private beach cabanas and a floating island for children and families to play on.
