River cruisers will benefit from the signing of a new code-share agreement between Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, and TAP Portugal, the national carrier in Portugal.
The new agreement will significantly increase flight options to destinations in Portugal including Lisbon, Faro, Funchal (Madeira) and, most significantly, Porto – the embarkation point for Portugal’s popular Douro River cruises.
“This new codeshare illustrates Etihad’s growing ambitions in Europe,” said James Hogan, Etihad Airways’ CEO. “It opens up four key destinations in Portugal that we have been eager to offer our customers for a long time and we are certain the connections and seamless flight experience offered by Etihad Airways and TAP Portugal will appeal to business and leisure travellers.”
This is Etihad Airways’ 34th commercial partnership of this kind, a continuation of the Abu Dhabi-based airlines global network expansion.
