If you missed Desmond Tutu’s talk on Holland America’s ms Amsterdam in March, you’ll be able to catch him next year when he boards Crystal Cruises’ Crystal Serenity.
The retired Archbishop will board the ship on 13 March, on the World Cruise segment from Perth to Cape Town.
He will host a complimentary presentation where he will talk about his journey from the son of a schoolteacher to an advocate for human rights and equality. He’ll also share personal insights about South Africa’s history and speak on universal themes such as the search for spiritual values.
There will also be an interactive question and answer session.
“Our inquisitive guests are engaged travelers who will relish the rare opportunity to experience South Africa through the eyes of one of the country’s most precious sons…and perhaps take some of his inspirational spirit home with them,” Crystal vice president of entertainment Bret Bullock said.
Desmond Tutu is one of 50 speakers planned for the line’s ‘Silver Celebration’ World Cruise.
The 108-day voyage is comprised of six 16- to 21-day segments sailing between Miami, Lima, Auckland, Perth, Cape Town and Rio.
Other guest speakers include US Senator Bob Graham; NBC news and editorial director, Howard Fineman; professional photographer, Neil Leifer; and political editor for CNN, Robin Oakley.
