Retired Archbishop Desmond Tutu has been announced as a headline speaker on a Holland America Cruise next year.
He will join the ms Amsterdam on its 2014 Grand World Voyage when it sails from Durban to Cape Town, South Africa from 28 March to 2 April 2014.
Passengers will have the opportunity to ask him questions, and hear his story as the first African archbishop in Cape Town, Cruise News UK reported.
Holland America Line executive vice president, marketing, sales and guest programmes Richard Meadows said it is “thrilling” to have Mr Tutu on board for both the line and the passengers.
He said: “To give our guests an opportunity to hear from someone like Desmond Tutu during their cruise is a shining example of our commitment to enhancing the cruise experience through our enrichment programme.”
ms Amsterdam’s world cruise will sail for up to 113 days from Florida, US with calls in South America; Polynesia; Australia; Asia; and South Africa.
