Come summer, the newly branded Coral Expeditions (formerly Coral Princess) will cruise Tasmania’s coastline.

Coral Expeditions I, able to carry 46 guests, will set sail on November 16, 2015 – its first of 16 seven-night itineraries in a season that will run until February 2016.

“With her shallow draft and manoeuvrability, she can hug the coastline and go where few cruise ships can,” said Group General Manager Mark Fifield. “Her tender vessel, the Explorer, allows all our guests to disembark in remote areas throughout.”

The voyage will take in historic sites such as Port Arthur, Maria Island, Hobart and Freycinet National Park, but it’s not for passengers averse to exercise; a typical day could welcome kayaking opportunities and expert-guided bushwalks and hikes.

Prices start at $3990 per person.
