Cruisers will be able to pick up a few cooking tips from celebrity chef and MasterChef Vietnam judge, Luke Nguyen, when he hosts two APT holidays to Vietnam in 2014.
The celebrity tour is part of the line’s new Vietnam and Cambodia 2014/15 brochure. It will take guests on a 20-day cruise along the lower Mekong aboard the RV AmaLotus.
Passengers will have the opportunity to explore local customs and culinary experiences with the Vietnamese Australian chef. He will also share his personal stories.
APT general manager marketing Debra Fox said Mr Nguyen’s knowledge and passion for the destination helped shape the program.
She said: “From vibrant Vietnam to the tranquil charm of Cambodia, this is a region that, not so long ago, opened its doors to visitors from around the globe; capturing hearts, igniting imaginations and leaving a desire to explore more.”
Other firsts in the 2014/15 program are the three-day luxury cruise in World Heritage listed Ha Long Bay, and a six-day Upper Mekong river cruise.
The Ha Long Bay cruise is featured on eight of 10 itineraries in the brochure. It will sail aboard the Indochina Sails Premium ship. Guests will visit the bay’s largest floating fishing village, kayak to Bai Tuong Bay, ride bikes in Ngoc Vung Island, and visit the Sung Sat Cave.
The Upper Mekong river cruise will be aboard the Mekong Sun in Laos. It will sail from Luang Prabang to Tha Deua and back. Guests will visit temples, Pak Ou Caves, a jungle village and a local school.
The brochure will be in news agency on 16 October. It features a total of 12 itineraries covering Vietnam, Cambodia, China, Laos and Thailand.
