Russia is set to receive its first brand new river ship since the fall of the Soviet Union.
Volga Dream Cruises has announced from June 2015 it will launch the brand new MS Volga Dream II to sail in Russian waterways.
Passengers boats sailing in Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia have remained the same since the 60s, 70s and 80s – albeit they’ve received slight renovations over the years.
According to the line, the new ship will delivered in March 2015, and will be the first ship made after 1990 to sail in Russia.
The 160-passenger vessel will feature two-room suites, largest industry staterooms with balconies, a single seating restaurant with large picture windows and outside dining area.
Additionally, it will have a lounge, conference hall and the latest technologies in navigation, design and safety.
Accommodation will include; four two-room Writers Suites; eight two-room Executive Suites; 36 Veranda Staterooms; 30 Deluxe Staterooms; and two single staterooms.
A statement from the line said, “we sincerely hope that you will share with us the excitement of this new development and will be honoured to welcome you and your clients on board the Volga Dream II soon!”
The original MS Volga Dream will undergo a series of repair works after completing navigation 2014 and will return to operation by the end of June 2015.
