Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has added new activity and adventure tours for passengers sailing on Europa 2.
The cruise line’s onshore programme includes canoeing, rafting, horse riding in Phuket. Thailand and cooking excursions for a local experiences and cooking classes.
Commencing from January next year, the line will commence open water dives for guests to see the underwater world in Thailand and Vietnam.
Dives will be led by expert divers and can be booked during the cruise through the concierge service. The travel concierge will then arrange a custom-made, private excursion and assist with advice and booking before and during the cruise.
Giving parents a break from the kids, the cruise line has also introduced escorted excursions for children between four and ten and teenagers from 11 to 15. The tours include trips with the zodiacs and snorkeling in Yalong Bay, which is located off the island of Hainan.
There are also family excursions to Vinpearl Land Water Park in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
Europa 2 director product management Julian Pftizner said activity and adventure tours play a big role in the ship’s on-shore programmes.
“In addition we offer more classic excursions such as city tours and visits to nearby sights and attractions, often with a different interpretation – for example a Segway tour through Manila,” he said.
