Carnival Cruise Lines will sail a record number of itineraries from Australia during the 2015/16-summer season aboard Carnival Legend joins Carnival Spirit.
The new program, which goes on sale 5 June, features 40 percent more itineraries than the previous program, with 143 cruise holidays.
For the first time, cruisers will be able to board a Carnival ship from Brisbane for a 13-day sailing from Brisbane to Singapore on Carnival Spirit departing 3 August 2015.
Or guests can board Carnival Legend for an 18-day Sydney to Hawaii via Tahiti and Fiji cruise departing 20 April.
The line will also return to Tasmania following the success of its inaugural cruise to the island earlier this year and for the first time the line will make a Melbourne Cup cruise, which will include entry into the race.
Australia vice president Jennifer Vanderkreeke said she expects the 2015/16 to sell quickly.
“We’re already 85 percent booked for 2014, we’re pretty full,” she said at a trade update in Sydney this week.
“Since Carnival’s Spirit’s arrival 18 months ago, the ship has already carried over 160,000 people.”
Carnival Legend is scheduled to arrive in Sydney on 22 September. She recently completed a $17 million ‘Aussification’ upgrade to cater to the Australian market.
Changes include the addition of the Green Thunder waterslide, the Cherry On Top candy bar and Australian power points and poker machines.
