Launched in 1992 by Norwegian Cruise Line, SuperStar Gemini was added to the Star Cruises fleet in 2012. It underwent a US$50 million refurbishment in 2013. It is popular with Asian families and couples. The 50,764 tonne ship has 10 passenger decks and can accommodate 1,529 guests and 889 crew.
SuperStar Gemini has 765 staterooms in 14 different categories. The largest accommodation on board is the Junior Suite which measures 371.33 square feet. The suites have a mini-fridge, DVD player, television and separating sitting room. There are 579 Ocean View cabins, 75 Balcony cabins, and 174 Inside Rooms. The Executive Suite is approximately 310.64 square feet and can accommodate four guests.
SuperStar Gemini offers open-seating dining. The main dining room is Bella Vista, which has full table service and Western and Chinese cuisine. Oceana Barbecue serves grilled and buffet meals in an outdoor setting. Mariners restaurant is a buffet with international dishes. For Chinese meals, passengers can dine at Taipan. And for 24-hour snacks, there is the Blue Lagoon.
SuperStar Gemini has amenities for health, fitness and wellness. The spa and fitness centre has modern fitness equipment, universal gym machines, sauna and steam rooms. The beauty salon offers full parlor services for both men and women from professional beauticians and hair stylists. Spa treatments available includes foot reflexology and Asian massage. There are two adult swimming pools, a children’s pool, outdoor Jacuzzi, jogging track and outdoor courts for ball games like basketball, soccer and volleyball.
SuperStar Gemini has some kid-friendly facilities including the Starlight Disco and Video Arcade, Wet & Wild by Neptune and Charlies Child Care Area. There is a comprehensive learning centre with plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained.
