Royal Caribbean is rolling out sushi as a new feature on its ships. Starting this month, one of Asia’s favourite lines will be offering its guests sushi carts which will be roaming areas around the ship.

The new Izumi Express, an offshoot of the line’s Izumi Japanese restaurants, will be on a number of Royal Caribbean ships, and eventually will be available on the entire fleet.

The sushi carts will be selling packages of sushi starting at US$7 along with a selection of Japanese beers. Crunchy shrimp rolls or spicy salmon rolls are both US$8.

The line tested out the new concept on Freedom of the Seas where it was a big hit among cruisers. It’ll be carted out on Independence of the Seas, Empress of the Seas, Majesty of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas. In August, Adventure of the Seas and Enchantment of the Seas will also get the new meals on wheels.

Royal Caribbean says the carts will be in the Promenade areas of the ships, and some of the vessels may also place them on the pool deck. On sea days, the cart will be wheeling out the sushi goodies from 11:30am-3pm and 5-9pm.
