P&O Cruises latest ship Pacific Aria is on her maiden call to Cairns. Fresh from a sparkling five ship spectacular ceremony in Sydney, Pacific Aria is currently docked at the Cairns Cruise Liner Terminal. The 55,820 tonne ship will return to Cairns twice on December 20-21 and December 30-31. The ship’s maiden call follows the cruise line’s inaugural visit to Hamilton Island.

This is the first time a leading cruise liner is docking in a regional Queensland city. Ports North Chairman Russell Beer said the region was looking forward to welcome P&O ships to the Cairns harbour.

Pacific Aria’s sister ship Pacific Eden will also make her maiden visit to Cairns on December 22. Eden will also be the first cruise ship based in Cairns from September and November 2016, taking seven night cruises to Papua New Guinea and returning in 2017 for a second season from August to September.
