Silversea Cruises has announced it would be building a new ultra-luxury cruise ship which is due to join the fleet by 2020.

The ship which has been given the name, Silver Moon, will be the sister ship of the Silver Muse which will be heading to Australia in the 2018/19 wave season.

With the capacity to accommodate 596 passengers on board, the Silver Moon will offer its guests all-suite accommodation. The new build will increase Silverseas’ fleet to an impressive 10 ships.

The vessel will be built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri Ponente (Genoa).

Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, the Chairman of Silversea said, “Based on the high praise of Silver Muse has earned with our guests, we are eager to build on our flagship’s success and move forward with a sister ship, which will bring us closer to fulfilling my father’s dream of a 12-ship fleet. We pride ourselves on delivering an outstanding luxury cruise experience, and are delighted to partner once again with expert luxury shipbuilder Fincantieri as we continue to grow and evolve our fleet.”
