Aurora is a sleek, mid-sized ship that’s truly British in character. Sailing to and from the UK, this family-friendly ship welcomes all ages sailing through all weathers with the most sophisticated layout that is a delicate balance of easiness and elegance. Aurora has updated its arsenal of experiences with a 2014 refurbishment adding the Sindhu Fine Dining Restaurant and updating the Sidewalk Café to include a new Costa Coffee and Grab and Go counter. The public rooms have also been remodelled to provide greater seating capacities and a brighter atmosphere.

Aurora has recently refurbished its 934 cabins to refine the refreshing interiors of earth tones and flamboyant patterns. All rooms have with twin-to-queen beds, a flat-screen TV, a telephone, safe, tea/coffee-making machines, full-length mirror, sofa and a coffee table. All rooms are spacious, from two-level penthouses to standard cabins. The bathrooms are equipped with standard bathroom necessities like shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, body lotion, tissues, shaver, hair dryer, and towels (including pool towels). For families and large groups, some of the cabins have interconnecting doors, and some others also have upper berths where the lower beds may be combined to make a king-sized bed.

Since the 2014-15 refurbishments, Aurora now offers Freedom Dining at the Medina Restaurant, its primary dining hall. Meals are served at 8-9.30am, lunch at noon-1.30 pm, and tea at 4p-4.45pm. The Alexandria Restaurant on the other hand serves two dinner sittings at 6.30pm and 8.30pm. The Lido Grill now offers Costa Coffee and a new counter, Grab and Go, is open from 8am to 4pm. The Horizon buffet serves casual meals with similar mealtimes. These free dining options offer quality cuisine and specialties, however the for-fee restaurants are also great, including the Sindhu, with an Indian fusion menu, The Glass House, which offers premium wine selections, and The Beach House’s grill.

The Oasis Spa on deck 12 has been adorned with a beautiful spiral staircase that adds class to its refreshing and charming atmosphere. Treatments range from facials to massages and there is a choice of other salon services. Grooming services are available at the Gentleman’s Spa. The gym is well equipped and includes classes and wellness programs including tai chi, Fab Abs workout, yoga and Pilates.

The Reef Children’s Clubs on deck 8 houses impressive facilities to keep children safe and entertained with fun and educational activities. From arts and craft to social events and games, there is more than enough choice to keep youngsters entertained for hours on end. Kids’ tea is served at the Horizon Café on port days. Nighttime nursery is offered from 6pm to 2am for children aged six months to four years.
